The next project

So, about 6 years ago, I picked up a 302 out of a 91 (or so) Mustang, and separately bought a T5 5 speed out of a 92 Mustang, all with the intention of putting it in Jill's 66 Mustang. I also ran across a 66 Mustang shell with the V8 motor mount brackets, brake/clutch pedals, and a 9-inch rear. I picked up a Granada disc brake setup from a friend, but I couldn't afford to buy the rest of the pieces I needed, so all these parts sat around. I hauled them to Utah when I moved here. Well, the other day, I mentioned to my wife that she could drive her Mustang (I had pulled it out of the garage after the winter nap). She knows the 6 cylinder is dying, and she hates the exhaust smell in the car, so she says, "Why don't you do the V8 swap?" I told her not to tease me, and she said she would leave it up to me. Sounds like permission to me! So, I took the car for its last drive with the 6 cylinder and automatic. It is now back in the garage, ready to be torn apart. I plan to start on it next weekend, by removing the front drum brakes and rear differential to do the 5 lug conversion. Then out come the engine and transmission! More to come....
